Sauerkraut and avocado, intriguing right? Will it be gross or delicious? Well I am here to tell you it is delicious, simple, versatile and full of nutrients. You can serve it as a side with polish sausage, use it as a dip for crackers or other veggies, or spread it on a wrap. Yum!
You've heard the adage, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". It is just as true for avocados. I'd venture to say more so. Avocado's are more than 80% of healthful monosaturated fats, high in fiber and full of minerals and vitamins. This is one nutrient dense food.
Sauerkraut is also a healhful food. It is best known for its status as a fermented food. It is full of probiotic organsims! It is also nutrient dense. It is rich in vitamin C, K1, iron, manganese, B6, folate, copper and potassium.
Sauerkraut Avocado Mash Recipe
1/2 Cup Sauerkraut
Remove the avocado pit and scoop avocado into bowl.
Mash avocado with fork.
Add sauerkraut and mash some more.
Serve with crackers, or as a side with polish sausage. Or enjoy spread on a wrap.
